My heart breaks that this place is closing down. It was one of the best vegan spots I have ever had in New York. Me and my partner got the Philly cheesesteak sandwich , the vodka chicken parm sandwich and cheese fries. It was beyond delicious!! I am going to miss them. Gonna get a cookie dough shake tomorrow to go. Love ya champs ! Long live champs !

Vegans who have been missing the traditional diner vibes, look no more! Champs is a fantastic vegan diner with delicious food. They have all the traditional diner fare including pancakes, French toast, chicken and waffles, burgers, and more. They also have yummy milkshakes. Definitely worth the trip!

I came here as a solo diner looking for comfort food nearby. Pretty busy on a weeknight with a flow of people coming in for takeout as well. I sat at the bar and my server was really kind and we had some good conversation. I'm not vegan but I can enjoy any kind of food and have had it in the past. I ordered the Strawberry Cheesecake pancakes ($14 for a 4 stack) and found them alright. A little too doughy for my taste. The strawberry cheesecake flavor wasn't very apparent and it was not too sweet. Usually that's how I like pancakes but I was looking for decadence when ordering strawberry cheesecake pancakes. The Nut Cruncher Shake ($12) was absolutely delicious and I would go back just for that. The topping was perfect and hit the sweet craving I had. The bottom was icy but I didn't really mind. I'd come here again with vegan or no vegan company.

So my friend, her daughter and I came here after church (shameless plug check out V1 Church at the Brooklyn Monarch just a few blocks away Sundays at 10:30am &12:30pm) We were looking around for a place to grab some food and thought a diner would be nice since they'd have a little of everything. We didn't know it was a vegan spot. For me I don't mind as a former vegan. But my friend and her daughter weren't but let me tell you - they LOVED every bite. We got the meatloaf, Mac n cheese, French toast, and a few other dishes. Everything was absolutely amazing The staff were super helpful and friendly! I'm telling our whole church to go visit them!!

My friend and I ate here twice during our stay in Brooklyn. The food is totally great if you're looking for fun and filling vegan options (see: the "chicken" and waffles). Also love the atmosphere here, it's very hipster camp

A dream come true for someone that is pescatarian and dairy free! I'm already used to meat and dairy substitutes, so nothing about this place is off putting or "out of the usual" for me. Lots of options, fairly priced and cozy/casual. Expect a wait, especially on a weekend. Enjoyed my meal and didn't have to fuss with customizing like I usually do at other restaurants. Disclaimer: if you don't necessarily have dietary restrictions, take everything I said with a grain of salt Most people than can eat freely are off-put by meat and cheese substitutes

This is my favorite food place of all time. Vegans and non vegans all agree that this food place is absolutely outstanding. The location is super tiny, but they have added outdoor seating. There can also sometimes be a wait, but whenever there is, I order the food to go and usually go to a park nearby and eat by the water. Their vegan Mac and cheese is absolutely amazing. One of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. I would also recommend the vegan Nashville hot chicken sandwich but I get spicy Mayo instead of regular. Other Recommendations would be the New York club sandwich or any of their pancakes with a side of tofu scramble. Cannot go wrong with anything on their menu. All totally deli Nearby, there is also an amazing vegan donut place so if you want amazing food and then amazing dessert, you're in the right place.

A vegan diner dream!!!! Enjoy coming here to try all their different sandwiches and dishes. Appetizers: Cauliflower wings are always a must with the sweet sriracha sauce, mozzarella sticks are also similar and stringy like real mozzarella- although I like all their food I do not recommend their cheese fries or Mac & cheese. Breakfast: if able to come before 5pm I recommend chickn & waffles- more of a sweet take on the dish.. French toast has strawberries and cream cheese icing which is delicious and sweet! Cinnamon swirl pancakes are more of a dessert but a must try! Sandwiches/ plates: can't recommend specially because they're all delicious! Dessert: always eat too much of the appetizers/entrees I've never made it to dessert. Overall recommend if craving a vegan dinner unhealthy meal!

COVID report: Champs is takeout only at the moment, but they have some outdoor tables where you can sit after ordering at the window. No heat or coverings/very casual. This spot has been on my list forever and it didn't let me down. The Mac and cheese and steak chimichurri sandwich were both amazing, and I had leftovers for later. Definitely will be back for more "brunch" foods one day, like the French toast!
